Action!

“Trying is lying. There is no such thing as trying. You do
it or you don’t. You get results in life or you have
excuses why you didn’t. When people say,
‘I’ll try,’ they usually mean, ‘I’m not
going to do it now.’ - Dick Sutphen

I made a yummy oatmeal breakfast: Oatmeal, dates, honey...and water this time instead of milk! It was actually pretty good w/ the water.

I didn't actually get out the door until 11am for my run! I was so mad! I was even more mad when my run got cut in half because of the COLD wind! I felt like the cold air was taking bites out of my face. and the sleet sure didn't help the pain! But anyway, I went out into the country for my run. I have always hated running in town because I feel like everyone is watching me. So I went out to my family's land and ran around the gravel roads. It was fun, but when I got back in the vehicular and looked in the mirror my face was bright red from the wind. But it was well worth it. I hadn't ran for awhile I have doing more of the elliptical so I am counting on some shin splints tomorrow. Yaaa, I really can't wait for those.
Once I got home I was starvingggggggg so I made a protein shake. The kind you get at Wholefoods Market: PEANUT BUTTER BANANA "Hallelujah" is what my taste buds were a-screamin'! IT WAS GOOOD! My husbooo ate one too and then he tried to steal the rest of mine. I also fixed a plate of purple and green grapes with some baby carrots. Man I can't believe how full I got from it all.

I went to my good friend Selena's shower today. It was a lot of fun seeing her. She had been keeping her baby name a seeeecret, but we played a game and the game was to guess the NAME! Sooooooooo the name was revealed and it is Adelaide. I thought it was very cute! I love different names. They have already decided that the Daddy-to-be will call Adelaide, Addy. I love that name. Its just so sweet! All of her gifts and clothes were PRECIOUS!!!!!! It made me wish for another little girl, but then I came back to my senses shortly after :)
So something about me: I LOOVE TO BAKE! I ESPECIALLY love creating/baking new things! So one day I decided to make a sourdough starter and I used whole wheat flour and have only used whole wheat the entire time! It has turned out sooo good!
This evening I made my pizza crust from it and we had some yummmmmmmmy pizza!
So to make sourdough starter you just mix one part flour and one part water. Mix it up together. And keep it covered in a dark place. It is best to punch a hole in the top of your container so that it can breathe. You must "feed"you starter atleast every other day.
A healthy starter should bubble. Here is my starter:
To feed it : You dump out a little bit of your starter and then add 1/2 cup of flour and 1/2 cup of water! If it seems insanely simple then you are RIGHT! It is simpleeeeee and FUN and cheeeeeeeap YUMMY bread! It takes about a week or two of feeding for your start to get sour-like and then it will start to bubble and you will be red-i to start your bakin'.
I made my pizza crust by using:
1 1/2 cup mature starter
1T EVOO
1t salt
1 1/2 whole wheat flour
Mix ingredients and knead the dough.
Then cover and let rise 30 minutes. It doesn't necessarily "rise" it is mainly just setting there to get more of the "sour" flavor.
After it has set, roll out your dough ball and put on your toppings! I used sausage, tomato and cheese. Then stuck in 450 degrees for 20 minutes. My husband and 16 month daughter LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED it mainly because I am sooo cool :)
Final Result:
Okay maybe it doesn't look tooo professional. But it was a lot of fun making it!
Hope everyone has a magnificent night! :)

hello. hello. HOLA!

“Look to the present. The great disease of ‘I will be happy when …’ is sweeping the world. You know the symptoms. You start thinking: I’ll be happy when I get that … BMW … promotion … status … money. The only way to cure the disease is to find happiness and meaning now.”— Marshall Goldsmith

Okay, so I am pretty new to the whole blogspot thing. Hmmm, I wonder if everyone starts their first post out with a sentence like that?!
I had sucha busy morning, but I LOOOVE busy mornings so I can't complain. Nope, not one bit.

Avery and I woke up (pretty late actually) I popped some oats, honey, and milk in the micro and we ate together while watching Little Einsteins! yee yee! My husband and I actually get into some of her Disney shows... well just sometimes :)

Aves and I then ran our weekly errands, which are: collect rent checks, check the business mailbox, pay bills, and run by the bank...ya know the fun stuff!

Right about the time we finished up our errands we got a call from my dad asking if we could come out to the clinic to help revaccinate and work a few cattle. So- we head out to the clinic and work us some cattle! Actually...Avery just sat in her high chair and munched on some Chex Mix while I worked.

So today after the whole cattle extravaganza we played the famous game of CLEAN THE HOUSE! So, I proceeded to put away all of Avery's cute little toys. she was a lot of help getting out the things I had just put away. Oh well, as long as she had fun :)

Husbo came home early because he got rained out working on a house. He played with Avery while I went upstairs and worked out on the elliptical and then I worked on my arms with my resistance band. I love those bands! They are so versatile and it is pretty impossible to cheat because you are forced to have a pretty perfect technique while working out with them. I just had sooo much energy today. I was feeling very off the walls so I upped the resistant big time on the elliptical and tried to work extra hard! I love feeling exhausted after a good workout.

So after the workout I went back downstairs and the little family of 3 just played the rest of the night. Fun day...&GREAT night!

My husbo is slapping tilapia on the grill right now so I better go get filled up on that wonderful goodness.

Life is so much better when you stop and enjoy the small things...even when you are busy!

"The most well engineered Italian sports car; the most brilliant diamond; the rarest and finest Shafer Hillside wine at six hundred dollars a bottle. They all have glaring, unmistakable faults … they can bring you happiness, but they can’t fulfill and satisfy your life. That comes from dedication, knowledge, achievement, love, honor, and respect — which is far more precious than any stone, fine wine, or sports car."-unknown
